The annual Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) District 10 annual meeting was held recently at the Great Prairie AEA. This year's theme was FCCLA Portraits of Leadership. Ottumwa FCCLA members who attended were: Kristine Mobo, Isabelle Cunningham, Allison Pinegar, Diana Nderi and Bernardo Gatica along with advisor, Barb Elswick.
Isabelle Cunningham, a OHS sophomore, ran for a distinct officer and was named Vice President of Records for 2020. Diana Nderi and Bernardo Gatica represented Ottumwa as voting delegates.
Kristine Mobo, a OHS senior arranged for the keynote speaker. Lt. Jason Bell from the Ottumwa Police Department spoke to the group on human trafficking.
Schools attending included: Ottumwa, Albia, Eddyville-Blakesburg- Fremont, Burlington, Fort Madison, Moravia, Pekin, Seymour, and Wayne. The FCCLA district donated to the Ronald McDonald House and collected care packages for their guests. Jessica Lous from the Ronald McDonald House presented information on the Ronald McDonald House and accepted the donation.
