Isaiah Scales
A local event to recognize Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will feature several students from the Ottumwa Community School District.
The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Citywide Celebration will be held Monday, January 20 at 7 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa. The program will highlight the non-violent theme King used during the civil rights movement of the '50's and '60's. Students participating include: the Ottumwa High School JROTC Color Guard and the Ottumwa High School Meistersingers.
This year, the keynote speaker will be Isaiah Scales. Scales is a 1999 OHS graduate who is a post-production manager for FOX and FX Entertainment in Los Angeles. His keynote address will be “Living the Dream.” He will share his journey of achieving his childhood dream of working in television and film with middle and high school students during assemblies at OHS and Evans on Monday.
