Ottumwa High School has added another opportunity for students and their parents to pick up a Chromebook prior to the first day of school. Students and a parent may attend the 1:1 Orientation Make-Up on Thursday, August 22 between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in room 105 (the former Welcome Center) or from 6-7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Students must be registered for the 2019-20 school year prior to completing the orientation process.

OHS will implement a 1:1 computer environment for Fall 2019. A 1:1 environment means that every student will have access to their own Chromebook laptop for use at school and home. This initiative increases engagement and productivity while preparing our students for life beyond high school, regardless of their post-secondary aspirations.

The required orientation for parents and students includes information on computer care and what is their responsibility if damaged, lost, or broken. Parents and students will also be required to sign an acceptable use form prior to receiving their device.

Students new to the district who have not received their Chromebook can also attend a Thursday orientation session. To register for the make-up orientation, use the link on the district website.
