Marching Band Begins Learning New Drill

Over 80 OHS students spent the week at band camp. Students not only learned new music for this year's marching band season but also had to learn to perform the drill on the field while playing.

On Tuesday,  Todd Dufault from Todd Dufault Leadership Academy came to OHS and worked with the marching band. Dufault has 35 years of experience working with students, adults and leaders all over the country.  He works to improve culture, enhance communication, create connections, build trust, generate commitment, and foster teamwork.  He worked on demonstrating “BUY IN." "With the use of a simple basketball, he made a remarkable impact on the students that has been evident all week since his clinic," said Troy Gerleman, OHS band director. Dufault is scheduled to come back four times over the next two years to work with the OHS Music Department staff through scheduled professional development time on Fridays.

The marching band will perform during four home football games as well as compete in several Saturday competitions.
