Library Offers Summer Activities

The Ottumwa Public Library (OPL) is offering a Summer Reading Program for teens. If you are a teen in grades 9-12 and love to read, OPL wants you to sign up for this year's program. All you have to do is sign up at the Children’s Desk on the first floor of the library and pick up a reading log. There will be reading logs for June, July and the beginning of August. When you return the log you receive a prize bag and your name will be entered into the drawing for a $75 Amazon gift card. 

The library will also offer events for teens throughout the summer including:

  • Teen Manga & Anime Club - second Friday of each month at 4 PM- 
  • Teen Writers Group -  the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 4 PM
  • Teen Craft Afternoon - Friday, July 5th from 3-4 PM
  • Teen Mystery Party - Saturday, August 10 from 3-4 PM. Come celebrate the end of Summer Reading Program by playing mystery themed games and eating pizza! The Grand Prize winner will be announced at the end of the party. (Please note attendance at the party is not required in order to win the Grand Prize).
