Meetings with high school guidance counselors during the next few weeks will assist Ottumwa High School students in developing their schedule for the next school year.
Wendy Maas, an OHS associate principal, hopes more families will look at the expanded opportunities offered by Indian Hills Community College. Career Discovery Academies, a new program started last year, provides an opportunity for students to explore career technical and health care programs. “Students are on campus for multiple periods to take a couple of classes to see if they like the program” said Maas. Students have the option to complete a diploma or certificate while still in high school through the academies.
Sessions will be scheduled through February 15. Parents are encouraged to view the OHS Program of Studies link on the district website.
