Members of the OHS JROTC Raider Team competed this weekend at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa, against 24 other teams from across, Missouri, Kansas, Wisconsin and Iowa. The raiders competed in seven events, including a 10K Road March, Raider Challenge Course, Physical Fitness Test, 2-Person Litter Carry, Rope Bridge, Biathlon, and a 1 mile 40 pound Ruck Run.
This is a new team this year, with only one member having previous Raider competition experience. The team placed fifth in both the Rope Bridge competition and the 1 mile 40 pound Ruck Run. “They were competing against some very experienced teams,” said CW4 Rick Reinier JROTC instructor and Raider coach. “Awesome job Raiders!” Team members included: Noah Hicks, Ethan Hernandez, Andrew Johnston, Louis Sosa, Michael Pinegar, Marisela Aparicio, Savannah Rupp, and Sabrina Sanchez.
The Raider Team will travel to Sedalia, Missouri next weekend to compete against 34 other Raider Teams in the "Tiger Raider Challenge. Good luck Raiders!
