Ottumwa Schools will host a ground breaking ceremony on Monday, August 6 at 4 p.m. at the site of a new home construction project at 1230 S. Sheridan.
The district is offering a construction technology program for high school juniors and seniors interested in learning about construction trades. The course will provide students authentic learning opportunities as they go through the process of building a new home. The 1,100 square foot home will feature three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and two car garage. The basement will be unfinished. The lot was donated by the City of Ottumwa.
