The OHS drama department will present, “Death by Design” on April 13, 14 and 15 in the Ottumwa High School auditorium. The play was written by Rob Urbinati and is directed by Natalie Dommer.
The play takes place during a weekend in an English country manor when playwright Edward Bennett and his wife, Sorel, an actress, flee London after a disastrous opening night. Other guests arrive, including a conservative politician, a fiery socialist, a near-sighted young woman, and a modern dancer. Each has a long-held secret. When one of the guests is murdered, Bridget, the feisty Irish maid, helps solve the crime.
The play was described in a review in the Press Herald as “a recipe for fun that’s perfect for livening up the dead of winter: Combine one part murder, two parts mayhem and season with a hearty dose of clever wit.”
Cast members include: Geovanny Marrero*, Mataya McClish*, Jennifer Culver**, Pablo Alvarado, Jacob McDowell*, Isabella O’Brien**, Caitlin James*, and Beth Milner*. The stage manager is Alyssa Carrow and Assistant Stage Managers are Alex Halvorsen and Collin Kepner.
