Students to Compete in DC

Two Ottumwa High School iJag students earned an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in a national iJag competition.

Shaydon Probst and Christian Miguel Garcia, both seniors, earned the trip on October 24 when they competed in the National Student Leadership Academy. Garcia competed in the math skills competition while Probst in project-based learning.

“I am so proud of them,” said iJag coordinator, Tina Walker.

The national competition against 500 iJag students from across the country includes an essay and competition in their chosen area. The trip, at the end of November, will also include a $100 gift card to purchase new clothing.
