The Young Artist’s Showcase will be on display at the Quincy Place Mall from Friday, May 2 through Friday, May 15. This is the 20th year for the art display, which represents a cross section of the quality K-12 two-and three-dimensional visual arts projects produced by students of the Ottumwa district.
Elementary art projects represent two and three-dimensional mediums taught by three K-6 art teachers at the six elementary schools. These teachers are Carissa Hughell, Kelly Lehman, and Sandi Wilson.
The Evans Middle School art staff, Pam Leming and Gwen Marcellus, is also displaying a variety of two-dimensional projects from their 7th and 8th grade art classes.
The OHS display represents the drawing and painting done by art students’ grades 9-12. Deb Cramblit is the OHS Visual Arts instructor.
“The Ottumwa art staff is always proud to display the work of the many talented students that we are so privileged to work with in our schools,” said Pam Leming.” We feel that the visual arts and creative experience that it provides is a valuable part of a child's overall education.”
