The Ottumwa Trap Shooting teams hosted their first home meet on Saturday, April 22 with 15 school districts and 357 athletes competing at the Ottumwa Izaak Walton League.
The Evans Middle School intermediate entry level squad finished sixth out of 15 teams. The intermediate advanced squads that took first and seventh out of 11. The OHS varsity squads finished first and sixth out of 19.
The top finisher for the middle school was Reese Jones, who finished 12th out of 73. Top middle school advanced athletes included Brae Simmers, second place; Zach Ross, third place; and Josh Goben, fourth place out of 53. In the varsity (high school) division, Cory Clark finished second, Dylan Hecker fourth place; Dylan Salter, fifth place; Dakota Bix, ninth place; Sam Zimmerman, 11th place; and Andy McMullin, 13th place.
In the ladies middle school intermediate entry level, Alexus Carrow, placed fourth; and in the intermediate advanced, Ava Howell, second place; Kaylee House, fifth place; and Olivia Parker, seventh place.
In the ladies varsity (high school) competition, Madison Conrad finished in fourth place and Alex Young, 16th place.
