The OHS and Evans Middle School trap shooting teams started their season on Saturday, April 1 with a meet hosted by North Mahaska at the Ottumwa Izaak Walton. There were 14 school districts represented with a total of 422 athletes who competed.
Sam Zimmerman took 1st place overall in the men's senior division with a score of 48 out of 50.
Brae Simmers took 1st place overall in the men's intermediate division with a score of 47 out of 50.
The Evans Middle School Advanced Intermediate squad also took second place. Squad members include: Brae Simmers, Zach Ross, Josh Goben, Jaxton Elliot, and Olivia Parker.
Two Evans students also received honorable mention for finishing in the top 10. Congratulations to Olivia Parker, who finished 5th and Kaylee House, who finished 7th in the ladies intermediate division.
