Ottumwa High School will recognize Veterans Day with two student assemblies on Friday, November 11.
The assemblies, at 10:45 a.m. and noon, will include a prelude and posting of the colors; the Pledge of Allegiance and “National Anthem” performed by the OHS Meistersingers; introductory remarks by Principal Mark Hanson; and special music by the OHS band, including “Armed Forces Salute” and “America the Beautiful.” The event will also include a flag folding ceremony and a POW/MIA Remembrance Table Ceremony led by Cadets Savannah Rupp and Madison Hanley.
The keynote speaker will be Lieutenant Colonel Joseph E. Brooks.
