Ottumwa Community Schools will host four separate opportunities for the public to meet the finalists for the athletic director position. The current director, Tom Kopatich, will retire from Ottumwa Schools the end of June. These receptions will be held in the OHS library from 4-4:45 p.m. on the following dates:
- March 24 – Missy Carson-Roark, Evans Middle School principal, Ottumwa
- March 30- Mike Egbert, Ottumwa High School Dean of Students, Ottumwa
- April 1 – Justin Remington, R-III School District Athletic Director, Holden, MO
- April 2 – Scott Maas, Ottumwa High School Associate Principal, Ottumwa
The district received 30 applications for the position and plans to recommend the hiring of the new athletic director to the school board at their April 13 meeting.
