Last weekend, over 70 OHS sharks entered the warm waters of The Beach Ottumwa to perform their annual show. This year, the group of synchronized swimmers presented "Synchronizing the Decades." Photos honoring Shark Club history, starting with a team photo from 1924, were displayed on a wall for everyone to see.
The show was fabulous!" said Coach Cherie Langland. "The first show had the biggest crowd, not an empty seat in the Beach!"
The addition of a second show this year worked out well for the Shark Club. "We could not have been able to fit all those who attended the second show in with the crowd at the first show," Langland said. "The evening was everything we worked towards it being."
In its second year, Langland and the other coaches tried to prepare the newcomers for the event. "Brace yourself for the show. It is a magical evening." This proved to be true for those who were new and those who were returning Shark Club swimmers. The swimmers exuded fun which translated into entertainment for the crowd. "We were very proud of all the swimmers who participated and performed exceptional routines."
