The results are in. According to the latest Iowa Safe and Supportive Schools (IS3) grant survey data released this week, OHS has made significant gains since being awarded the grant in 2011. The overall index score has gone from 17 to 24. This is a significant gain, according to program coordinator, Megan Wetrich.
Other highlights released this week include:
- Adult/student relationships increased from a 2.93 to 3.0
- Student/student relationships increased from 2.73 to 3.0
- Graduation rate increased from 82.5% to 88.96%
- Attendance rate increased from 89.1% to 91.6%
The grant focuses on the conditions for learning, including school safety; quality of relationships; established and practiced norms and values; processes and procedures used; and the physical environment.
