The OHS Boys Basketball team will host a Teddy Bear Toss on Friday, February 6 at 7:45 p.m. in the Evans Middle School gym. The event will take place during half-time of the varsity game.
Anyone who brings a stuffed animal to the game will pay $1 admission. Animals will be thrown onto the court and collected by freshman and sophomore basketball players for local children in need.
"We like to do community service projects during the season," said Coach Kevin Kanaskie. "I have seen this done before and thought it would be a good idea. We will donate the stuffed animals to children in need."
The basketball players are also partnering with the OHS Best Buddies program. Students in the Best Buddies program will collect teddy bears at OHS in the Welcome Center and will sell stuffed animals at the game for $3 for those people who did not bring one to the game.
