The Interact Club at Ottumwa High School is sponsoring their annual Food Drive. Students will be collecting food October 27 through November 25. Their goal this year, 18,000 items!
The club encourages competition between all third hour classes. Weekly totals will be posted in the cafeteria. The winning class will receive the afternoon off to go to the movies or bowling and pizza.
To encourage donation of specific items, the following items are worth double during each identified week:
- Week One: canned vegetables
- Week Two: macaroni and cheese
- Week Three: peanut butter
- eek Four: canned beans (does not include green beans)
Ramen noodles will not be accepted in the count this year. They do not carry a lot of nutritional value for those in need. Donations will go to the Ottumwa Lord’s Cupboard.
