A Winner at OHS

Steve Zimmerman

For the second year in a row, Steve Zimmerman has landed in the "final three" candidates for School Administrators of Iowa's, Assistant Principal of the Year award.  While not selected this year as the recipient, he is still a winner in the eyes of those who work with him on a daily basis:

"When I need help with anything, Mr. Zimmerman is the person I can count on. He's helped motivate me to do better in school and be successful in life."

-- Jordan Nuno, OHS student

"Steve Zimmerman is a man who goes above and beyond each and everyday for everyone at Ottumwa High School.  He wants to see all students succeed, and provides them the support and encouragement to help them be successful.  He is a visible presence in the hallways and engages with everyone that passes. Steve exemplifies a leader through his content knowledge, student interventions, and rapport with faculty. We are lucky to have him as part of the Bulldog Nation"

--Heather Swanstrom, OHS science teacher
