Due to the Schafer Stadium renovation project, there will be no public access to the stadium or track throughout the summer. The project begins in earnest on Monday, May 22 and will not be completed until late August. The district will notify the public once the stadium is open for use.
Project components will include:
- stadium seating, including the grandstand, visitors, and a new section for the marching band
- artificial turf that will also include raising the field level to be even with the track
- new lighting
- renovation of the pavilion and field level locker room to include new public restrooms
- press box upgrades
- embankment stabilization
“I appreciate the community’s understanding during this project,” said Superintendent Nicole Kooiker. “For the safety of our community members and to protect project materials and equipment, the district will keep the stadium locked at all times throughout the renovation.”
