Ottumwa High School will recognize Veterans Day with two student assemblies on Wednesday, November 11 at 10:45 a.m. and noon.
The assemblies will include a prelude and posting of the colors; the Pledge of Allegiance and “National Anthem”; introductory remarks by Chief John Wynn; special music, “Letters From Home” and “Letters from War” to be performed by students; student essay winners announced; moment of silence and “Taps.” The event will conclude with Principal Mark Hanson singing “Proud to be an American” with the student body.
