Caleb Vasconez and David Halvorsen
OHS vocal students, Caleb Vasconez and David Halvorsen, were recently selected for participation in the 30th annual Opus Honor Choir Festival. Over 3,000 students were nominated by their directors for 720 positions in the four Opus Honor Choirs. Selections were made by means of a recorded audition. Both OHS students were selected into the ninth grade mixed choir. They are members of the Ottumwa High School vocal department under the direction of Dennis Vasconez.
The 2015 Opus Honor Choir will perform at 4 p.m., November 19 in C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in the Iowa State Center in Ames. The Opus Honor Choir Festival is under the auspices of the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Inc.
