“The Ottumwa Athletic Department is excited to name Kyle Creamer as head boys basketball coach” said athletic director, Scott Maas. The appointment is pending board approval.
Creamer, an Ottumwa High School alumni, has been an elementary physical education teacher and basketball coach in the district for seven years. During that time, he coached basketball at both the sophomore and varsity levels. Last year, he was also named coach for the boys golf program.
As an Ottumwa native with seven years of coaching experience under his belt, Creamer knows the student athletes he works with. “Ottumwa kids are smart and tough,” he said. “I want to re-instill that toughness.”
“We are confident that Kyle will lead our boys program in a positive direction,” said Maas. “Kyle possesses enthusiasm for teaching young people, and knowledge of the game. We are confident that he will have a great impact on the boys basketball program.”
