OHS junior, Ryley Robinson, has been selected for an engineering internship this summer at Cargill in Eddyville.
Robinson, the son of Todd and Kim Robinson, is currently taking Principles of Engineering at OHS. The course provided an opportunity to tour the Cargill facility. Mr. Kopnick, the course instructor, alerted Robinson of the possibility of an internship opportunity. After completing an application and essay questions, Robinson was in the finalist group for a follow-up interview. He was recently notified of his selection.
The internship is from mid-June through mid-August and will be approximately 40 hours a week. Robinson is excited about learning more about the engineering field and having this opportunity to see how engineering concepts are applied in the real world.
He plans to attend the University of Iowa after graduation and hopes to have other internship opportunities during his college career.
Robinson follows OHS alumni, Katy Fish and Mackenzie McCoy, who both participated in the Cargill internship program in high school.
