Students in Introduction to Engineering presented their projects during semester tests Thursday and Friday. The project involved selecting an existing product that had at least 8 parts, tearing it apart to learn how it was designed, re-creating the design in a CAD drawing program, then developing innovative ideas for the product's re-design. For example, the pepper grinder team had several innovative ideas. A salt shaker could be added to the top of the grinder. The grinder could also be designed to grind both salt and pepper simultaneously.
Some of the projects included a clock, fan, three-hole punch, and white-out dispenser.
