Principal Hanson presents certificates for successfully completing the first round.
The OHS JROTC program recently participated in JROTC Leadership and Academics Bowl (JLAB). The team from OHS competed against 1,561 schools online. The team spent two weeks preparing for the online testing, which is similar to SAT/ACT, and finished with a ranking in the top 50% of the teams. Teams are not given their rank, but are notified of advancing to the next round.
OHS will now compete in the second round against 780 schools. The JLAB team will practice for the second round in January. The competition takes place the first week in February. The top 24 teams after round two will win a trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the JLAB Championships, held in June.
Team members include: Megan Simmons (captain), Sebastian Silvan, Julietta Ibarra, Riley Wynn, Jacqueline Aparicio, and Alexis Young.
