Flashback to Fifth Grade

Flashback to Fifth Grade

Josh McCoy shares his time capsule memories with former teacher, Mrs. Weilbrenner.

Seniors who attended Horace Mann Elementary had a flash back on Thursday.

Each year during a student's last day at Horace Mann, teachers ask them to create a time capsule. They record information about current events, prices of products, their friends, and what they like. Mrs. Weilbrenner and Mrs. Meister delivered time capsules to the OHS seniors today.

Students enjoyed looking at their photos from fifth grade, talking about the price of a stamp (41 cents) and that gasoline is cheaper today than when they were in sixth grade ($3.60). Two students also noted that their handwriting had not changed.

"It's hard to believe it was six years ago . . . time flies," said Leila Armstrong.
