Congratulations to the 2014-15 OHS winter cheer squads for their Academic Achievement Awards.
The varsity and junior varsity basketball squads are awarded the Excellence Awards for girls basketball cheerleading and boys basketball cheerleading for a 3.019 cumulative grade point average for the 17 cheerleaders involved in basketball cheerleading. Members of the varsity basketball cheer squad are: Carleigh Aljets, Bailee Randall, Miranda Bower, Destini Crook, Lindsey Howard, Bailey O'Brien, Katlyn Palmer, and Ally Sutton. Junior varsity basketball cheer squad members are: Emma Grosjean, Mia Calcaterra, Ivy Cutler, Brooke McCoy, Klayre Michel, Katelyn Randall, Baylee Rose, Allyson Shepherd, and Jenna Turner.
The varsity wrestling squad was awarded the Distinguished Award for a cumulative grade point average of 3.54 for the 5 cheerleaders involved in wrestling cheerleading. Members of the varsity wrestling cheer squad are: Marissa Alvarez, Carrie Hagstrom, Lucy Kjer, Destiney Playle and Esther Emberton. Coaches for the Ottumwa High School cheerleaders are Debb Kent, Heather Swanstrom and Lindsey Ebert.
