Students at the ACA completed several community service projects recently as part of the Teen Outreach Program (TOP).
One project involved first grade classes at Horace Mann Elementary. The first group helped students make bunny baskets and filled them with treats. High school students assisting included: Liliana Palma, Meghan Gruber, Hailey Drewry, Carla Ramirez, Isaac Merida, Josef Herman, and Tristan Sullivan.
Another project involved third grade classes at James. They did a math egg hunt where students had to solve math problems to find a corresponding egg. Students assisting included: Megan Zesiger, Hailey Drewry, Isaac Merida, Chelsey Reynolds, Josef Herman, Mariah Hager, Mallory Brown, and Kaleigh Brown.
The TOP program empowers teens with the tools and opportunities needed to avoid risky behaviors – like dropout and teen pregnancy – and become leaders with a powerful vision for their future. It is coordinated by Katy Gottschalk through American Home Finding. "They really are a great bunch of students!" said Gottschalk.
