Students and staff at OHS donated 13,459 food items during school's annual food drive. All donated food collected the past four weeks will go to local food pantries.
The food drive, a competition between third period classrooms, includes bonus items each week. This year, classes combined efforts to meet the goal of 15,000 items.
Mrs. Durr and Mrs. Fischels' classrooms teamed up and won with a point total of 7,061 points. This team won the afternoon off to see a movie, courtesy of the Interact Club. Fischels commented that the students set individual and team goals. Progress was monitored weekly as items were donated.
Second place finishers were Ms. Neumann and Mr. McGinity, with a point total of 3,245 points. This team has won a pizza party, courtesy of the Interact Club.
