Former NBA Player to Speak at OHS

Adrian Branch will speak to Ottumwa High School students about making positive choices on Thursday, October 8 during two assemblies. The event is being done in conjunction with Sports World, an organization whose mission is send professional athletes to share personal life experiences with students, helping them to recognize the value of making positive choices in their life.

Branch is a retired American professional basketball player. A 6'7" guard/forward, Branch starred at the University of Maryland from 1981 to 1985. He was drafted into the NBA in the second round by the Chicago Bulls in 1985. He played a reserve role with the Los Angeles Lakers when they won the NBA Championship in 1987. He later played in Australia, Spain, France, Monaco, Thailand, Philippines, Israel, Turkey and the Dominican Republic. In 2004 he became a television color analyst for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats games and joined ESPN in 2007 as a college basketball analyst.
