Four Ottumwa High School band students recently participated in the annual Simpson College Honor Band Festival in Indianola. Students included: Jennifer Culver, Madelyn Morris, Marissa Cartwright, and Kathryn Wixom.
The guest conductor was Professor Frank Perez, Director of Bands at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, Dr. Perez has conducted many school honor ensembles throughout the midwest and was a special guest clinician for Minerva Marching Band of Benemerita Universidad Autonoma in Puebla, Mexico. He is an active clinician, giving workshops in trombone and technology for the Iowa Bandmaster's Association, California Music Educators Association, Iowa Music Educators Association, and the Missouri Music Educators Conference.
