The Ottumwa Trap Shoot team hosted a home meet last weekend with 10 other schools competing, including Danville, Knoxville, Winfield Mt. Union, Pella, Waco, Pella Christian, West Burlington, Notre Dame, Albia, and Sigourney.
Results include:
1st Place Intermediate Squad - Brae Simmers, Ryan Klein, Josh Goben, Olivia Parker, Zach Ross with a combined score of 164
1st Place Varsity Squad - Cory Clark, Jake McCall, Abe Parker, Andy McMullin, Dakota Bix with a combined score of 226
1st Place Men's Varsity - Dakota Bix with a perfect score of 50
2nd Place Ladies' Intermediate - JoAnna McKim with a score of 27
3rd Place Ladies' Intermediate - Olivia Parker with a score of 26
3rd Place Ladies' JV - Mikala Roberts with a score of 30

Varsity - 12th and 14th
JV - 6th
Intermediate - 5th
The team will compete in two more meets during their regular season. Shoots include Thursday, May 19 at Fort Madison and Saturday, May 21 at Ankeny. The squads then begin preparation for the state meet on June 9-12 in Cedar Falls. Squads that place 5th or better at state qualify for nationals in Marengo, OH.
