The Pride of Ottumwa High School marching band competed at the Geneseo Marching Invitational in Geneseo IL, on September 17. This was the second time the marching band has competed out-of-state. They walked away with a score of 58/100 which is a good score this early in the competition season.
This year’s production is entitled "The Machine." The show transforms the winds, guard and percussion all into the moving parts of one massive machine. Its combination of visual and musical repetition is the vital theme to help portray the mechanical nature of the production. The sounds of gears, pistons, and belts help create the style of the music along with a dance feature that pulls the entire band together to form the theme of the show, one working machine.
