For the second year, Ottumwa High School freshmen will start school one day before their peers. Freshmen Orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25. The event is part of the school’s efforts to promote a positive environment for Ottumwa students.
OHS freshmen will attend school on Tuesday from 12 to 3 p.m. Students will receive a free lunch and an OHS T-shirt. They will meet their advisor, find their locker, and go through their schedule. Buses will run all routes to ensure that every student has an opportunity to be at this event. To ride the bus, contact Durham Bus Services at 641-954-9900.
“This event was a hit last year and is sure to be great this year,” said Kami Millikin, Welcome Center director. “Freshmen will have a chance to get comfortable with the OHS campus and teachers before the year starts. This is one of the ways we hope to get our kids excited about education and make them feel welcome!”
