SCHOOLOGY INFORMATION

Dear Mukilteo School District families,

Parents, guardians and students can now access the Schoology Learning Management System. Please use the Getting Started with Schoology guide to set up your account and support your child signing into Schoology. When setting up your parent/guardian account, please use the access code below to link to your child’s platform. Once you login with one child’s access code, you can enter additional student access codes to your account to see all of your children’s information in one place. The Schoology set-up video will guide you through that process.

For additional resources, technology help, and translated materials, please visit our Technology Family Resources page on our website under the Students and Families tab. Your child’s courses will appear in Schoology the first day of school, Sept. 2. Schoology will give families the most up-to-date information about assignments and classroom resources.  

Schoology will not replace the Qmlativ Family Access Portal. Families will still access the most current information about student grades and attendance in Family Access. Middle and high school students’ schedules will be posted in Family Access by 4 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 28. For secondary school students, please note that counselors continue to refine schoolwide schedules, so you may see some minor adjustments to your class schedule by the start of school next week.

If you are a returning family, use your existing Family Access login. If you are new to Mukilteo School District, you’ll receive your login email early next week before school begins. If you’ve forgotten your Family Access login, you can click the “forgot username or password” link on the Family Access webpage. Instructions on resetting your password are also available in several languages.

If you have not discovered the TRANSLATE button in the top right-hand corner, I just wanted to let you know about it. It will translate everything that is on the page. This is why I am posting weekly some things you can do at home. Technology, unfortunately, sometimes does not work. This is a place to go if you need directions on what to do for your child for the week. Click on the weekly tabs and read/ translate the information! Know that I miss your children and the classroom. We will get through this together! #OPStrong

READING- Use home books until Book Bags come home. Book Bags at your students level come home in October. 

1. Read just right books- no more than 5 errors- 

    20 minutes to Maintain Reading level

    30-40 minutes to Increase Reading level

2. BOOK BAGS- Book Bags are at your students level. They are 3-4 books that your student should be able to read independently without help. Your student needs to read them aloud 3-4 times with NO mistakes. They also need to know:

     a. main characters

     b. problem in the story

     c. any message that the author wants the reader to know

     d. what the story was about (beginning, middle, and end)

     e. favorite part

When this happens, your student should bring back their book bag to the teacher. They will read one book to the teacher and if they are fluent (sound like a teacher) they will get more books to practice and read.

MATH-

1. Practice 1-10 Addition and Subtraction Facts (use flashcards)

    Flashcards OR worksheets

2. Practice 1-20 Addition and Subtraction Facts

3. Count outloud by 2's, 5's. and 10's

    2,4,6,8,10...

    5,10,15,20,25....

    10,20,30,40... AND 2,12,22,32,42...

4. Count coins

5. Play Math games- any games that involve numbers, counting, dice... Uno, Yahtzee, Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Phase 10, and MANY more!
