Hi! My name is Carmen Thomas and I am so excited for you to be in our learning community this school year! I have been teaching first grade for 10 years now. I started my teaching career in Northshore School District and joined the staff at Olivia Park 7 years ago. I absolutely love our school and community and am so excited for another year of learning and growing together. 

I graduated with my BA in Humanities and Social Sciences from Western Washington University. After graduating, I worked as a behavior technician where I supported students and classrooms in different special education programs. It was that experience that led me to the decision to pursue becoming an elementary school teacher. I am dual certified in both general and special education with a Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington, Bothell. 

I grew up and currently live in Bothell. I live with my husband Evan, our 1.5 year old son Liam, and our puppy Waffles. When I'm not teaching you might find me watching the Seahawks, camping/hiking, spending time with family or working out (I love yoga and weight lifting)!
