Syllabus for Math Class
Welcome to Math class! This year we will be learning mathematical concepts through a variety of avenues. Our common core curriculum is Saxon: course 1 & course 2. We will also be practicing using a web-based program, IXL, which is leveled and tracks on-going progress. Occasionally, we will be working on projects that are connected to math concepts or formulas, and playing math games.
In math class this year, you will deepen your understanding of mathematical concepts and procedures for solving problems.
Homework: students will have homework each night. My expectation is that students work on memorizing their basic facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You will be expected to work in a focused and productive manner during class, however, occasionally, you may need to take classwork home to complete.
