Youth Mental Health First Aid

  • Youth Mental Health First Aid: October 3rd and 4th from 8:30-12:30 at the Board of Education,

    Chelsea Cloud, Mountain Brook Schools Mental Health Services Coordinator, is hosting two sessions on Youth Mental Health First Aid. Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, teachers, neighbors, or any adult who has a passion for working with young people how to help an adolescent who is experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.

    This 8-hour hands-on training is being offered over two days and participants will learn how to engage and reduce crisis using a 5 step framework, as well as participate in group discussions to further knowledge of mental health. Each participant will leave the training as a Youth Mental Health First Aide certified through The National Council of Behavioral Health. All materials are provided for participants.
