    • Bolivia is the largest of the only two landlocked countries in South America. The other land-locked country is Paraguay. 

    • Bolivia has two capitals. The main capital is La Paz. The second capital is Sucre. 



World Records:

    • Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world.  

    • Salar de Uyuni contains over 64 million tons of salt, making it the largest salt deposit in the world. 

    •  El Alto Airport, the highest airport in the world, is in La Paz, Bolivia.

    • Bolivia is also home to the highest navigable lake in the world. Lake Titicaca is shared by Bolivia and Peru. 

    • Bolivia is home to Camino de las Yungas or The Road of Death, the most dangerous road in the world. Driving up or down this 43-mile road is extremely dangerous because of fog, landslides, cascades, and cliffs that drop 2,000 feet at every turn. The road does not get any wider than 10 feet across.

    • Bolivia has an annual rainfall of over 16 feet! That makes Bolivia one of the wettest countries on the planet!

    • The Sajama National Park is home to the world's highest forest sitting at almost 13,000 feet above sea level.
