Monica Slaughter graduated from Samford University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in N-12 Spanish Education.  While in college she had the opportunity to study abroad in Madrid, Spain and travel throughout the country. She has taught secondary for nine years and elementary in Mountain Brook since 2009.

Monica was awarded the Alabama Association of Foreign Language Teachers K-12 Outstanding Foreign Language Teacher in 2015 and the Mountain Brook City Schools Outstanding Performance Award in 2020-2021.
