Mrs. Hicks is excited about beginning her third year as the Literacy Coach at Mountain Brook Elementary.  This will be her seventh year at MBE, having previously taught in the special education department for four years.  Before joining the MBE family, Mrs. Hicks spent 2 years teaching special education in Trussville, AL.  Mrs. Hicks attended Birmingham-Southern College, and graduated in 2014 with a degree in Collaborative Education.  She received her Masters in Collaborative Teaching in December 2016, and a certificate in Educational Leadership in July 2018, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Mrs. Hicks is passionate about literacy, multi-sensory learning, and supporting all learners.  She received her CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) certificate in August 2018.  Mrs. Hicks looks forward to working alongside teachers, students, and parents to make the 2022-2023 school year the best it can be.  Go Lancers!
