• MP MPHS Tigers and Lady Tigers have a rich history and tradition in MCPS high school sports. While participation in sports is considered an extracurricular activity, we firmly believe that it provides a platform for student growth in multiple areas.

Being part of organized sports allows students to

    • grow and develop physically as young athletes
    • improve leadership skills
    • build collaboration techniques with others
    • cultivate discipline and time management skills
    • participate as an individual and as a team
    • mature in self-esteem, self-discipline, and self-care
    • and so much more!

MPHS is governed by the TSSAA (Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association) and is classified as a single A or double A school, relative to the sport. All athletes must have a current physical and parental consent on file with the school BEFORE any tryouts, open gyms, scrimmages, practices, or games; it is the student's responsibility to complete and give a copy of these forms to the school (the coach of record or the school athletic director). Forms can be accessed here TSSAA Physical and Consent Forms or the school office.
