• Greetings to potential Spring Hill Middle School (SHMS) football players and families. We are a member of the Tennessee Middle School Sports Association and compete in the Maury County football conference.

New athletes must have completed an athletic physical on or after 15 April and completed finalforms.com (https://maury-tn.finalforms.com/to participate in spring practice.   DO NOT begin final forms or get a student sport physical before this date.

    FAQ

Is attendance at the Skills Assessment a guarantee for a final roster spot?  No.  While the coaching staff would like to keep all athletes interested, players sometimes lack the basic skills, proper attitude or academic stamina to help build a strong program. Whenever possible, we will not cut players.

Does SHMS have a Football Junior Varsity program?  No

Is there a minimum play rule like in recreational programs?  No.  The amount of playing time an athlete has is related to their size, strength, and agility to play aggressively, performance in practice, and behavior in school.

Are there team fees for football?  Yes. When an athlete is placed on the final roster there is an $85.00 fee and we ask for participation in one fundraiser.  There is not a team fee for managers.

When are practices? Organized Team Activities begin immediately after the roster is announced and will continue twice a week until the end of June.  Practice will resume in July 5 nights a week until school begins.  In school practices are 5 days a week after school until 5:30.
What nights are the Middle School games? Almost all games will be on Tuesday nights, usually beginning at 6pm.  The exception to Tuesday night games are usually due to rescheduled games as well as the conference championship game that is scheduled on a Saturday.
