I have loved the opportunity to get to know the amazing Canyon Colts school community this year.  Here’s a little information about me.  I moved to Cache Valley almost 30 years ago.  We raised our family in Hyde Park. My family consists of my late husband, Gary, along with two boys and one daughter who are all married. I have 5 grandchildren.  I also have a stepson and his family who live in Texas.  That puts my grandchildren count up to 10.  So fun!

My roots are in Cache Valley with both sides of the family having connections here.  I grew up in Sandy, UT and graduated from Hillcrest High.  My father was a family physician and my mother was a busy stay-at-home mom for seven children.  I was the oldest daughter and often left in charge.  We were taught to love books and learning along with hard work.  

I returned to school when I had young kids and completed my Bachelors degree at Utah State University a long time ago and then later completed my Masters degree at Weber State University. Then once again to USU to complete the Administrative and Supervisory Certification program.  I've had opportunities to teach students of all ages from Kindergarten through adults in many different educational settings.  I've loved them all!

I began teaching in the Cache District at North Cache Middle School where I taught reading and worked with struggling readers.  Since then my journey in Cache District has taken me to White Pine, Sunrise, Summit, Nibley, Wellsville, North Park, Greenville and Birchcreek all before the opportunity to serve as the principal at Lewiston Elementary and now at the amazing Canyon Elementary..  

I look forward to continuing to work together to build upon the wonderful things happening at Canyon elementary.  We will learn and grow together.  Together we CAN and DO make a Difference! Go Colts!
