The School District of La Crosse’s Board of Education continues its crucial community dialogue as it prepares for a referendum vote on November 5.
To foster open communication and transparency, the Board of Education continues to host a series of community engagement sessions, inviting residents to share their perspectives, concerns, and aspirations regarding the upcoming referendum.
These sessions are designed to gather feedback and ensure that the district’s plans align with the needs of the La Crosse community.
Schedule of Community Engagement Sessions:
The referendum proposes the consolidation of Emerson and Spence Elementary Schools at a new building located at the Hogan Administrative Center site and the consolidation of State Road and Hintgen Elementary Schools at the State Road site with a building addition. This proposal carries a total cost of $53.5 million.
In anticipation of these critical decisions, the Board of Education has outlined four focus questions to guide the discussions:
1. What questions do you have regarding the referendum?
2. What concerns do you have regarding the referendum?
3. What opportunities do you envision with new or improved facilities?
4. Is there any additional information that could aid us in the referendum process?
The input gathered from these sessions will play a pivotal role in shaping future community engagement and informational materials regarding the referendum ensuring that the community remains well-informed throughout the process.
The School District of La Crosse encourages all residents to participate in these sessions and contribute to the collective dialogue. Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant future for our schools and our community.
