The School District of La Crosse is excited to announce the upcoming Bass Ensemble Concert, where 14 talented students from 6 different La Crosse schools representing grades 5 through 12 will captivate the audience with their impressive musical skills. The concert will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, at Logan High School, promising a delightful and family-friendly event for music enthusiasts of all ages.
The Bass Ensemble Concert marks the culmination of an enriching two-week music camp. Bass Camp Ensemble serves as a platform for students to enhance their techniques, collaborate with peers from diverse grades and schools, and foster a deep passion for playing the double bass.
“Offering Bass Camp is important because it provides students an opportunity to perform challenging music that goes beyond the scope of their usual orchestra experience,” said orchestra teacher Zach Mayer. “I hope students will take a sense of community away from this experience. Many of these students will be attending a new school in the fall, and having built a connection with someone before the first day can make their transition easier.”
The Bass Ensemble Concert promises an exceptional musical experience, featuring a repertoire that exclusively showcases music written for double bass ensembles. Attendees can look forward to an engaging and diverse program, highlighting the talent and dedication of the young musicians.
“We encourage all members of the community to join us for this wonderful occasion,” said Mayer. “Supporting these young artists not only fosters their passion for music but also contributes to the vibrant arts community we have in La Crosse.”
The Bass Ensemble Concert is free of charge and open to the public, providing an ideal opportunity for friends, family, and music enthusiasts to come together and enjoy a remarkable display of musical talent.
