[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]In therandy and sam2 School District of La Crosse we pride ourselves on the high quality educational opportunities we provide our students. We are proud of the multitude of educational choices and options available. From environmental education, to Spanish partial immersion to project-based learning, we believe we have a school that will meet any students’ learning style.

We also believe that educating our youth should include character development. In 1996 the School District of La Crosse adopted a set of core values. Since that time our schools have made a concentrated effort to focus on them. These include honesty, respect, responsibility, self-discipline, compassion, perseverance and giving. You will see these values on signs in our schools. You will hear them included in the morning announcements. But, most importantly, you will see them in the actions and behaviors of our students and staff. In the newest issue of CommunityTalk you will read examples of our students making a difference both in our schools and the community and demonstrating the core values. We invite you to, join us in modeling these critical attributes.

As I spend time in our schools I am continually proud of our students. I see students helping one another in the halls, reading together in classrooms and collaborating on projects. I can assure you the leaders of tomorrow will be of great character.

If you have not been in a school lately, I invite you to stop in. We would be honored to share with you the outstanding work our teachers and students are doing every day. You can see firsthand how our students are affirming the district’s core values and making a difference in the community.

In Support of Our Kids,

Randy Nelson, Superintendent of Schools””
