Glendale Unified School District recognizes the importance of our volunteers.
The following protocols are required for all volunteers coming to our campuses.
Please note that individual teachers may ask for class volunteers: the requirements are the same wherever you are volunteering. Any adult must be cleared to be on campus during the school day.
Plan ahead, as you will not be allowed on campus without the following paperwork, and it may take several business days to clear volunteers.
RETURNING VOLUNTEERS: If you were cleared to volunteer last year, you do not need to resubmit any paperwork, when your TB expires you will receive an email.
REQUIREMENTS: ALL NEW VOLUNTEERS WORKING LESS THAN 15 HOURS PER YEAR MUST:
- fill out the GUSD volunteer agreement form. On this Google Form, you will have to:
- Upload Photo ID
- Upload proof of COVID vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test within 48 hours of volunteering
- Upload proof of current TB test, chest x-ray or TB risk assessment questionnaire
- Follow all current District and School safety protocols.Volunteers who do not comply with District protocols may have their volunteer privileges revoked.
IF YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING FOR MORE THAN 15 HOURS WHERE CHILDREN ARE PRESENT:
This is a new District-wide policy as of Fall 2022. Even if you have already had a background check for another school or workplace, GUSD requires its own separate clearance. To start the background clearance process, please email Amy Handal, Franklinhealthoffice@gusd.net so she can submit your information to HR.
